Vision, mission and objects

What the Foundation is for, in its own words.

Vision

A Trinidad and Tobago where underprivileged, at-risk, and vulnerable citizens unlock their full potential and participate meaningfully in society.

Mission

To plan, coordinate and implement programmes and activities for the holistic development of underprivileged, at-risk and vulnerable citizens of Trinidad & Tobago.

Our ten commitments

The Constitution sets out ten objects. Here they are as plain commitments; the verbatim text is in the Constitution on the Transparency page.

  1. Use technology to widen access to knowledge and services, including free online training and software that supports vulnerable groups such as senior citizens and caregivers.
  2. Provide the books, tuition support, practice tests and toolkits a student needs to succeed.
  3. Run sessions, seminars, workshops and training that improve employability and personal development.
  4. Offer mentorship and coaching, and develop leadership and life skills grounded in ethics, civic duty and the law.
  5. Give financial help, where we can, for educational costs and essentials like books, school supplies, food and clothing.
  6. Support tuition, where we can, at selected educational and vocational institutions.
  7. Raise and account for donations, grants, sponsorships and bequests from any lawful source.
  8. Partner with public bodies, NGOs, schools, international organisations and community groups.
  9. Acquire and manage property only in furtherance of these objects and under prudent financial controls.
  10. Do whatever else is lawful and helps achieve the above.
